Women's Tennis Beats Kansas, 7-2

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- The Oklahoma State women's tennis team ran its winning streak to four with a 7-2 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks at the Robinson Tennis Courts on Saturday afternoon.
The Cowgirls, who are currently ranked No. 56, improved to 12-3 overall and 4-3 in conference action. The 59th-ranked Jayhawks fell to 11-8 and 4-3.
OSU won the match's first three singles points to take a 3-0 lead, picking up straight-set wins from Maria Galoustova, Dominika Olszewska and Linda Faltynkova. The Cowgirls also picked up a win at the No. 5 position when senior Marketa Chmelova won in straight sets to move her record to 10-4 on the season.
In doubles action, the Cowgirls swept all three matches to close out the scoring. The Cowgirls were led by the nationally-ranked tandem of Galoustova and Ashleigh Dolman. With the duo's 8-2 win at the No. 1 position, they rose to 10-7 on the season.
The Cowgirls will close out their three-match road trip with an 11 a.m. tilt against Kansas State on Sunday.
