Cowgirl Tennis Falls at Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. – The Oklahoma State women's tennis team became the third-straight Big 12 victim of the Wichita State Shockers on Saturday at Genesis Health Club.
Wichita State dealt the Cowgirls a 4-0 loss, with the match being played only until it was clinched because of time constraints. The Shockers beat Oklahoma on Feb. 15 and Kansas State on Feb. 21.
WSU opened with a win at No. 1 doubles with Anna Egorova and Stephanie Dalmacio downing OSU's Alisa Buslaieva and Iryna Khatsko 8-1. The Shockers clinched the doubles point with Lutfiana Budiharto and Lenore Lazaroiu's 8-6 win over Nataliya Shatkovskaya and JoAnne Karaitiana. The No. 3 doubles match was not finished.
The Shockers (8-1) picked up three straight-set wins in singles to earn the four points needed for the match. Egorova beat Shatkovskaya 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. WSU's Dalmacio defeated Maryna Tkachenko 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Lazaroui's 6-2, 6-2 win over Buslaieva at No. 6 singles was all the Shockers needed to win the match. The three other singles match were unfinished.
The OSU women (4-4) will be back in action tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. against Abilene Christian at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
