Cowgirls Fall to TCU at National Championships

WACO, Texas – The third-ranked Oklahoma State equestrian team lost to No. 6 TCU, 10-6, in the first round of team competition at the National Collegiate Equestrian Championships Thursday at the Extraco Event Center.
WACO, Texas – The third-ranked Oklahoma State equestrian team lost to No. 6 TCU, 10-6, in the first round of team competition at the National Collegiate Equestrian Championships Thursday at the Extraco Event Center.
The two teams tied 2-2 in Horsemanship, but the Cowgirls won the overall raw score, 579-578.5. Kirsten Chamberland and Harley Huff won the won points, with Huff bringing in a high score of 150.5.

Next was Equitation on the Flat, which the Cowgirls lost, 3-1. Abigail Brayman won the only point for the Cowgirls with her 150-140 victory.

The Cowgirls tied in Reining, 2-2, with Hannah Mitchell and Julia Purus earning points for the Cowgirls

OSU would fall in Equitation Over Fences, 3-1. Carly Barrick got the lone point for the Cowgirls with her 167-165 win.

Each of the event teams still competes for the Cowgirls Friday. The Reining team takes on South Dakota State, the Fences squad takes on SMU, the Flat team faces Delaware State and the Horsemanship team is up against TCU. Â
