Cowgirl Tennis Completes Third Consecutive Sweep

STILLWATER- Oklahoma State's 22nd-ranked Cowgirl tennis team ran its winning streak to three in a row after shutting out Arizona State, 4-0, on Saturday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
The Cowgirls moved to 4-1 on the season with the victory. Additionally, OSU completed its third-straight sweep and has outscored its opponents by a combined 15-0 during the winning streak.
Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Miyamoto made an opening statement on court two. The Cowgirl duo ran away with their match, taking five-straight games on the way to a 6-1 victory over Giulia Morlet and Marianna Argyrokastriti to remain undefeated on the season and give the Cowgirls an early advantage.
Courts one and three were fighting it out with both matches tied at four. With the doubles point looming Oona Orpana and Dariya Detkovskaya pulled away, earning a 6-4 victory over Arizona State's Cali Jankowski and Sedona Gallagher.
Mhai Sawangkaew and Martina Zerulo were in a battle with the 60th-ranked duo in the nation on court one when their match was called.
In singles, Mhai Sawangkaew came out swinging. The 30th-ranked freshman didn't lose a game in her 6-0, 6-0 rout of Arizona State's Domenika Turkovic. Sawangkaew moved to 3-0 on the season with her impressive victory.
Lisa Marie Rioux followed suit, dominating Julia Morlet, 6-2, 6-2, to add another Cowgirl point. Oona Orpana rolled in set one. The freshman sealed the deal in a hard-fought second set, winning her match 6-1, 6-4, for the match-clinching point for OSU.
Ayumi Miyamoto's match was stopped during a tiebreaker in set two with a chance to clinch the match. After dropping set one, Martina Zerulo fought back, winning set two, 6-0. However, her match was called one game into set three. Sofia Rojas trailed, 4-1, in the third set when her match was left unfinished.
