Cowgirl Equestrian Comes Up Short At TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas - Oklahoma State's top-ranked equestrian team was defeated by fifth-ranked TCU, 16-4, in the final regular conference meet of the season Saturday at Diamond Creek Ranch.Â

The meet began with Fences in which the Cowgirls lost, 3-2. OSU's Sydney North picked up the first MOP honor of her career by defeating Sydney Berube, 87-86, and Hope King earned a career high, 86-70, to defeat TCU's Raegan Rast. Emma Pacyna, Abigail Brayman and Sydnie Ziegler all lost their points, 77-72, 85-80, and 79-76, respectively. Â

The Cowgirls were unable to find any momentum on the day as they continued into Reining and Flat coinciding.Â

In Reining, Molly Mitchell delivered the Cowgirls' lone point when she bested Giorgia Medows, 71-70. Quincee Clark fell to Madyson Buchanan, 70-67.5, and Kelly Harper lost to Mattie Dukes, who secured the MOP. Jojo Roberson dropped her point against Jessica McAllister, 70-69, and TCU's Shea Graham narrowly beat Hannah Lovrien, 69.5-69.Â

To begin Flat, King secured her fifth MOP on the year by defeating Sydnie Young, 87-65.5, but Hannah Coleman was beaten by Ashleigh Scully, 83-75.5. To conclude the event, Katie Pelzel, Ziegler, and Brayman lost their points, 80-79.5, 82.5-72, and 86-80.5, respectively. Â

The last disciple of the meet was Horsemanship. Horned Frog Shea Graham earned a tally by defeating Claire McDowall, 68.5-67.5. Roberson and Natalie Vargo barely dropped their points, 75-74.5 and 71-70, respectively. After a re-ride, Dukes secured her second MOP of the day after besting Caroline Nielson, 77-74.5. To conclude the meet, Maddie Fussell fell to Payton Boutelle, 76.5-76Â

OSU will be back in action for a doubleheader against Texas A&M and Bridgewater in College Station, Texas, March 11-12.
