January 28, 2025 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER —Oklahoma State Cowgirl Equestrian will enter its spring season ranked No. 5 by the NCEA, the association announced Tuesday.
The Cowgirls are 5-3 entering the second half of the 2024-25 season. One win came against conference opponent Baylor, giving OSU a 1-2 Big 12 record.
For Jumping Seat riders, Riley Hogan had a historic fall season. She moved into first place in OSU history for career Fences wins with 38, and she compiled 13 total wins in the fall between Fences and Flat rides. Hogan has earned six MOPs across both events so far, including a career-high performance in Flat against TCU. She collected Big 12 Rider of the Month in Fences in October and November and Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month in October.
On the Western side, OSU is led by Horsemanship captain June Roberson, who posted a record of 7-0-1 in the fall. Roberson is the reigning Big 12 Horsemanship Rider of the Month for November after going 4-0 with one MOP against UC Davis. Roberson also concluded the fall on a five-ride win streak.
OSU opens the spring season with back-to-back conference meets at No. 10 Baylor on Feb. 15 and at home against No. 3 TCU on Feb. 21. The Cowgirls will look to win their 15th straight against the Bears and sweep the season series, while they will look to avenge a 11-9 loss against the Horned Frogs in
Fort Worth in the season opener.
OSU travels to take on No. 7 SMU on March 1 for its final road trip of the season, and the Cowgirls round out the regular season with a home meet against Big 12 opponent No. 6 Fresno State on March 8.
