DALLAS, Texas — Oklahoma State's third-ranked equestrian team fell to No. 4 SMU, 14-5 at the Dallas Equestrian Center on Saturday.

With the loss, OSU drops to 6-4, while SMU improves to 9-4 this season. The Cowgirls are now 1-6 on the road in Dallas.

The meet began with Fences and Horsemanship.

The Fences squad lost the team advantage, 4-1. Bella Holway reentered the win column with a victory against Hannah Hoch. Holway picks up her fourth win of the season and scored a new high for the spring season.

The Horsemanship team lost their second team advantage of the season, 3-1. The lone point for the Cowgirls came from Alana Stanton, she defeated Jayna Lagace, 74.75-74.5. Claire McDowall and Violet Shetler split their ride with scores of 75.25.

June Roberson, Peyton Baxter and Bella D'Onofrio all lost their rides, respectively.

After a short intermission, the meet continued with Flat and Reining.

In Flat, the Cowgirls fell to the Mustangs, 4-1. Hannah Dodd picked up her second straight win, defeating Hensley Humphries, 72.5-71. The captain now has four wins in her fifth year. Gable Gering scored a team-high 77.5, but fell short to Augusta Iwasaki.

OSU captured two points in the Reining event but lost the team advantage. Ava Bush scored the first point for the Cowgirls, scoring her second-highest total of the season. Bush took down Sara Filiatreau, 72.75-72.5. Bush has a record of 4-5 this season. The other point came from Emma Filiatreau, winning her sixth-straight ride. The sophomore has a team-high eight wins in Reining this season.

The Cowgirls are back in action next Saturday against Fresno State on March 8, at the Pedigo-Hull Equestrian Center.
