STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's No. 25 ranked women's tennis team lost a thriller to No. 44 UCF, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

With the loss, OSU falls to 7-6 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 play while dropping its first home match of the season. The Cowgirls will be back on the road next weekend as they take on West Virginia on Friday and Cincinnati on Sunday.

The match began with UCF securing the doubles point to take a lead. Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp were the first to post a win, however, defeating UCF's No. 72 pairing of Olivia Lincer and Hannah Rylatt, 7-6 (7-2).

Olivia Bergler and Jade Psonka answered for the Knights, beating Gracie Epps and Melissa Ercan, 7-5, before Sophia Biolay and Aya El Aouni bested Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-2), to put the doubles point on the board for UCF.

In singles play, OSU tied the match at one when No. 89 Lopez defeated Rylatt, 6-3, 6-4. UCF quickly retook the lead, with Lincer beating No. 88 Komar, 7-6 (10-8), 6-3, and No. 98 Biolay taking care of Collins, 6-3, 6-4.

The Cowgirls turned in the next two wins to even the match once again. First, No. 44 Epps defeated Psonka, 6-4, 7-5, followed by Nijkamp beating Bergler in a tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6 (8-6).

With the match on the line, UCF's No. 122 Aouni outlasted Ercan in a three-set battle, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, to put the deciding point on the board for the Knights and complete the upset.
