Cowgirl Tennis Extends Streak with Win Over TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma State's No. 26 ranked women's tennis team extended its win streak to six with a 4-2 victory over No. 37 TCU on Friday night in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Cowgirls are now 13-6 on the season and improve to 7-1 in conference play while extending their road win streak to four. OSU also extends its win streak against TCU to 13 and is 7-2 in matches played outdoors this season.
Oklahoma State took an early lead by winning the doubles point for the sixth consecutive match. The No. 39 pairing of Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp kicked things off with their biggest win of the season, knocking off the No. 18 team of Jade Otway and Isabel Pascual, 6-1, to improve to 14-2 on the season.
Gracie Epps and Melisa Ercan were the next to get a win, beating Raquel Caballero and Tomi Main, 7-5, to clinch the point for the Cowgirls. Kylie Collins and Marcela Lopez were ahead of Helena Narmont and Yu-Chin Tsai, 6-5, when their match was stopped.
In singles, OSU got wins on courts three, four and five to clinch the win. First, Collins earned her first win as a Cowgirl, beating Pascual in dominant fashion, 6-0, 6-0. TCU put the next two points on the board as Caballero defeated No. 81 Komar, 6-4, 6-3, and Maya Drozd beat No. 104 Lopez, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.
No. 58 Epps put Oklahoma State back in front with a win over Main, 6-4, 6-4, before Nijkamp outlasted Tsai, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, to clinch the win for the Cowgirls. Ercan was ahead of Otway, 6-4, 3-6, 4-1, on court one when play was stopped.
OSU now looks ahead to a meeting with No. 22 Baylor on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Waco, Texas, in an attempt to win its first match against a top 25 opponent this season.
