March 06, 2025 | Cowgirl Equestrian
STILLWATER — Oklahoma State equestrian's Riley Hogan and Emma Filiatreau have been named Big 12 Riders of the Month for their respective events, the conference announced Thursday.
Hogan earned the accolade in Flat, while Filiatreau claims the honor in Reining. It's the second monthly conference award in Flat for Hogan in her career; for Filiatreau, this is her third career conference monthly award.
The Cowgirl duo marks the eighth and ninth riders to earn a monthly conference award this season.
February has historically been good to the Cowgirls, as they now count 19 total riders of the month since 2012. Of them all, five have been in Flat and five in Reining, including Hogan and Filiatreau.
In February, Hogan started the spring season perfect. The senior went 1-0 in Flat and scored her third highest score of the season with an 83.5. Her performance against Baylor earned her the eighth MOP of her season across all events. In the two meetings against Baylor this season, she went 4-0 and claimed four MOPs across Fences and Flat. Her Flat record is currently 7-3, with hopes to carry her momentum into the rest of the season.
For Filiatreau, she leads all Reiners this season with a record of 8-2. She is currently on a six-ride win streak, averaging a score of 72.75. The sophomore went 1-0 in February and won the fourth MOP of her career.
Filiatreau is the fourth OSU Reiner to earn the accolade in February in program history, joining Tristan Bagby, Hannah Mitchell and OSU's all-time winningest rider Katy Krshka. The sophomore was also recognized as the NCEA's Reining Rider of the Month for November.
