Fouad Messaoudi named USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week following record-breaking performance at Arkansas Twilight

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State distance runner Fouad Messaoudi has been named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week following his performance at the Arkansas Twilight this past weekend.
Messaoudi clocked the tenth-fastest time in NCAA history in the 1,500 Meters with his time of 3:34.34. His mark also broke a 37-year old facility record, as well as the school and Arkansas Twilight meet records. He is the first man in program history to be named National Athlete of the Week outdoors and is the seventh Cowboy overall to receive national weekly honors, with the previous six below:

Messaoudi will be looking for his third career Big 12 title in the 1,500 Meters this weekend at the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lawrence, Kan. Action kicks off Thursday, May 15 and will continue through Saturday, May 17. The entirety of the meet will be streamed live on ESPN+.
