Blair Anderson, Kade Benjamin earn All-Big 12 honors on second day of Big 12 Championships

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Oklahoma State Track & Field had several big performances on the second day of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships, highlighted by Annie Molenhouse becoming the first OSU multi-event athlete to win a Big 12 title.
Molenhouse captured the Heptathlon crown with 5,729 points, the third-highest total in program history. She closed out the competition with a clutch runner-up finish in the 800 meters to secure the win. Behind her, Olivija Vaitaityte earned bronze with 5,509 points thanks to top five placements in all three of Friday's events, highlighted by a first place throw in the Javelin Throw. Katie Chapman and true freshman Jamila Isman added seventh and eighth place finishes to give the Cowgirls 19 total points in the event.
Fellow freshman Zeddy Chongwo earned All-Big 12 honors in her first career conference championship in the Long Jump, earning an eighth place finish with her mark of 6.22 meters. Later in the evening, Kaylie Politza punched her ticket to Saturday's final in the 800 Meters with her time of 2:04.27.
On the men's side, Blair Anderson secured a silver medal in the men's Long Jump, leaping 7.51 meters, adding eight huge points for the Cowboys. Kade Benjamin continued an impressive sophomore campaign, setting a massive personal best in the High Jump, clearing 2.15 meters to finish fourth and earn five more team points.
To round out the evening, Hafez Mahadi came from behind in his heat to qualify for the men's 800-meter final, winning his section with a time of 1:49.80.
Through two days, the Cowgirls sit in third place with 38 points, while the Cowboys are in ninth with 18. Championship action wraps up Saturday in Lawrence with a full slate of finals and team trophies on the line. The entirety of the Big 12 Outdoor Championships are streamed live on ESPN+.
