May 29, 2025 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Oklahoma State men's outdoor track & field opened competition at the NCAA West Prelims on Wednesday, with two Cowboys securing spots at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., and three others advancing to the next round in their events.
Blair Anderson kicked off action in Texas with an incredible performance in the Long Jump, launching himself to a huge personal-best of 7.93 meters to finish third overall and punch his ticket to nationals. The jump not only earned him a spot in Eugene but also marked the second-best mark in program history behind Cowboy Olympian Jacob Fincham-Dukes.
On the track, Denis Kipngetich placed fourth in the 10,000 Meters with a time of 28:15.51 to advance to the NCAA Championships for the second straight year, where he placed third last season.
In preliminary action, Ayden Granados (3:46.94) and Alex Stitt (3:55.79) each advanced to Friday's quarterfinal in the 1,500 Meters as Granados advanced via a time qualifier and Stitt by winning his incredibly tactical heat. Hafez Mahadi also advanced to Saturday's quarterfinal in the 800 Meters with his time of 1:48.38 as he was the fastest non-automatic qualifier in the field.
Friday's action in College Station kicks off with three Cowgirls in the Hammer Throw starting at 10 a.m. CT and wrapping up with the 10,000 Meter semifinal at 9:10 p.m. The entirety of the NCAA West Preliminary rounds are streamed live on ESPN+ and live results for the meet can be found here.
