Ellie Bushnell shines, Cowgirls place third at Carmel Cup

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Oklahoma State women's golf returned to Pebble Beach on Sunday for the third and final round of the Carmel Cup.
The Pokes played their best collective round of the weekend, producing a 356-stroke (-4) round. The 4-under effort was the overall second-best round by a team, behind only Texas A&M's 353-stroke (-7) outing on day one.
At 16 strokes over par, OSU finished the tournament in third place, trailing first-place Texas A&M by 26 strokes.
Ellie Bushnell excelled for the second round in a row, firing a 68. The 4-under par showing was the third-best individual round of the event and propelled Bushnell to a top 10 finish, placing seventh at 1-under par. The junior was one of only seven golfers to post a total score below par.
2024 Carmel Cup champion Grace Kilcrease carded a 73 (+1) in her final round, marking a 70-75-73—218 (+2) weekend in her return to Pebble Beach. Kilcrease finished just outside of the individual top 10, coming in at No. 12.
Marta Silchenko turned in her second under-par performance of the tournament, shooting a 3-under 69. Silchenko was one of only eight golfers to shoot under par in two or more rounds, joining teammate Ellie Bushnell, and placed 16th on the individual leaderboard at 4 strokes over par (71-80-69—220).
Lucy Darr improved on yesterday's round by 5 strokes, firing a 2-under 70 that solidified her as the third Cowgirl to shoot under par Sunday. As a result, Darr jumped 12 spots on the individual leaderboard to No. 23, closing at 6 strokes over par.
Yu-Chu Chen carded a 76, shooting 4-over par. The freshman carded 79-74-76—229 (+13) in her first collegiate tournament.
Summer Lee ended her weekend with an 80.
Oklahoma State women's golf will return to action Sept. 20-22 for the Schooner Fall Classic at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Okla.
