October 19, 2026 | Cowgirl Tennis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Oklahoma State's Arina Malygina earned a berth in the NCAA Individual Championships with a straight-set win on Monday at the ITA Central Regional Championships.

Malygina rallied from an early 4-0 deficit in the opening set to defeat No. 117 Xin Tong Wang of Wichita State, 6-4, 6-3. The win gave Malygina her third consecutive ranked win and fourth of the fall season.

She finished the tournament with a perfect 5-0 singles record, highlighted by victories over Nos. 100, 108 and 117 in the ITA preseason singles rankings.

Malygina continues to impress in her first semester as a Cowgirl, becoming the first freshman to make the singles final at the ITA Central Regional since Dariya Detkovskaya in 2019.

Malygina will now turn her attention to the NCAA Individual Championships, scheduled for Nov. 17-22 in Athens, Georgia.
