Ward, Roberson take top honors at OSU Athletics Academic Awards Banquet

STILLWATER – Logan Ward (football) and June Roberson (equestrian) are the 2026 recipients of Oklahoma State's Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, which were presented tonight as part of the OSU Athletics Academic Awards Banquet.
A three-time academic all-district selection by the College Sports Communicators and a four-time academic All-Big 12 honoree, Ward is the ninth football student-athlete to receive OSU's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, joining Rafael Denson (1995), Kyle Eaton (2003), Darnell Smith (2007), Brandon Weeden (2011), Clint Chelf (2013), Britton Abbott (2018), Alex Hale (2022) and Tom Hutton (2023).
A two-time member of the NCEA all-academic team and two-time academic All-Big 12 selection, Roberson joins Luann Ulrich (2004), Leah Kuehn (2010), Jenna Blumer (2014), Katy Krshka (2015), Justine Peters (2016), Hannah Janson (2020), Stephanie Helsen (2022) and Jojo Roberson (2023) on the list of equestrian winners.
The Oklahoma State Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award acknowledges the remarkable character and performance of one male and one female student-athlete. As the highest honor presented among OSU student-athletes, this award reflects exemplary performance in academic endeavors, athletic activities, and a commitment to community engagement. The award recognizes exceptional character of the student-athlete and a remarkable dedication to academic performance.
The award was initially presented in 1994 as the OSU Student-Athlete of the Year, but the title changed to OSU Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015.
Baseball's Noah Wech was recognized as this year's recipient of the Nate Fleming Academic Effort & Improvement Award, an honor presented each year to a student-athlete who has overcome personal struggles through hard work, determination, and effort to excel not only in his or her sport but also in the classroom and in life.
Each sport also had a Director's Chair Winner named, reflecting on the academic achievement of a graduating senior in each sport. The list:
