Cowgirl Tennis Adds Graduate Assistant To Staff

STILLWATER – Santa Strombacha has joined the Oklahoma State women's tennis coaching staff as a graduate assistant Cowgirl head coach Katarina Adamovic announced today.

"Her work ethic, loyalty and understanding of the culture we want to build make her a perfect fit for our staff and I'm very excited to have her continue this journey with us at Oklahoma State," Adamovic said.

Strombacha joined the Houston coaching staff in the same position this past season after playing one year with the Cougars.

"Santa is an incredibly hard worker who understands exactly what it takes to thrive in a highly competitive environment," Adamovic said. "She was part of our staff this past season at Houston and played an important role in the success we had there. She brings great energy and professionalism every single day and has a great ability to connect with players."

During her collegiate career, Strombacha tallied a 52-18 record in doubles and a stunning 56-15 mark in singles.

After redshirting her freshman year at Arizona, Strombacha transferred to Grand Canyon, where she earned All-WAC First Team Singles and Doubles three consecutive years.

During the Germany native's junior and senior seasons at Grand Canyon, then-head coach Adamovic played a critical role in helping Strombacha tally a 40-4 singles mark and a 36-8 doubles record.

The two would go on to win the 2023-24 WAC Tournament, shutting out all three opponents and Strombacha clinching the win in the championship match. The win marked just the second time the Lopes were able to win the WAC in the regular season and tournament format.

Strombacha's 21 singles wins and 16 doubles victories in her junior season set the Division I program record at Grand Canyon. She also holds the highest winning percentage in the Lopes' Division I era for singles (78.1 percent) and doubles (80.6 percent).
