Oklahoma State Athletics 2025-26 Year in Review
A mentor of mine had a saying: "Today's record is tomorrow's expectation." At Oklahoma State, we have established high expectations, and that is exactly what we want.
Winning is the goal. Often we succeed, sometimes we don't. But we always strive to make alumni and fans of Oklahoma State proud in the way we compete and represent you. I'm proud of every single one of our student-athletes, coaches and staff and the work they are doing, already getting ready for the 2026-27 seasons. But before we turn the page, below are some of the highlights from this past year:
Winning is not easy. We will never take success for granted, nor will we stop in our relentless pursuit of it.
To do so takes a complete team. Off the field, we continue to evolve administratively to best support our coaches and teams in this new era of college athletics. Over the winter, we restructured our athletics leadership team with a focus on revenue generation and commercial activity to maximize our partnerships with Cowboy Sports Properties, Loyal & True Marketing, and businesses across the state and nation.
One of the early successes of that restructuring was a historic jersey patch sponsorship with Osage. In this time when generating revenue has never been more important, we celebrate our friends at the Osage Nation. They saw this new opportunity and demonstrated, once again, what is possible for organizations and brands who are considering partnering with Oklahoma State Athletics, and in the meantime, will become one of the lead supporters of OSU Athletics.
Attracting and retaining talented athletes has always been critical to winning. How that functions has changed in recent years and we're grateful for everyone that gives to sports-designated scholarship funds, Loyal & True Marketing and businesses who are making a significant difference in the NIL space, or donors who support revenue sharing through the POSSE Excellence Fund.
As Athletic Director, I am proud of the work our people are doing to move Oklahoma State Athletics forward and I hope you are, too. We will continue to do everything in our control to position OSU to compete for championships and represent everything that makes this place special.
In closing, we can't do any of this without the support of our POSSE members and our fans. Thank you for making this success possible. There is much to be proud of from this past year and much to look forward to next year and beyond. I look forward to seeing you in Boone Pickens Stadium, USA Today's No. 1 football stadium in America, to start off this exciting sports year. - Men's Cross Country NCAA National Champions.
- Jax Forrest, Sergio Vega and Landon Robideau … the first trio of freshmen from the same team to win individual titles at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.
- Preston Stout (men's golf) individual national champion – Cowboy Golf's 10th NCAA individual medalist.
- No. 28 in the final Learfield Directors Cup standings for our seventh consecutive top-30 national finish.
- Six teams with top-five national finishes and 10 with top-20 national finishes.
- All-sports Bedlam Series champions by the widest margin in series history.
- 43 All-Americans across all sports for the third-highest total in school history.
- Five Big 12 Athletes of the Year in their respective sports.
- Two national coaches of the year (Dave Smith and David Taylor).
