Freshman Malygina leads Cowgirl sweep at UTR Shootout Stillwater

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's tennis freshman Arina Malygina won all four of her singles matches to claim first place at the UTR Shootout Stillwater on Sunday afternoon at the Greenwood Tennis Center.
All three Cowgirls who participated reached the semifinals, combining for a 7-0 record against non-OSU entries while dropping just one set.
Malygina controlled her opponents en route to the final, winning eight straight sets and beating three University of Tulsa players along the way. In the finals, she defeated teammate Veronika Kliuch, 6-3, 6-3.
Kliuch, a junior UNLV transfer, swept her first two opponents before winning a closely contested semifinal against teammate Claudia Gasparovic, 6-4, 7-5.
