Cowgirl Cross Country moves up seven spots in latest USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State women's cross country moved up seven spots to No. 8 in this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Coaches' Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.
The Cowgirls defeated No. 2 New Mexico 64-70 at the Cowboy Jamboree this past Saturday, led by Billah Jepkirui and Maureen Rutoh, who finished first and second overall on the day. The No. 8 ranking held by the Cowgirls is tied for their highest ranking in the past three years, as they achieved the same ranking in weeks 3 and 6 of the 2025 poll. Both Jepkirui and Rutoh defeated two-time NCAA champion Jane Hedengren of BYU, who is currently the No. 2 individual in FloTrack's rankings. The seven-spot jump by the Cowgirls was the largest by any team in either the men's or women's poll.
On the men's side, the Cowboys dropped two spots to No. 3 after taking second at the Jamboree to No. 2 New Mexico. Despite the drop, the Cowboys have now held a top three overall ranking in 24 straight USTFCCCA polls dating back to 2022. They have also been ranked inside the top 10 in every USTFCCCA poll this decade.
