Oklahoma State track & field and cross country welcomed the addition of Levi Dorsett to its staff as the new Director of Operations in 2025.
Dorsett joined the OSU staff from Ole Miss, where he spent the past six seasons as the Director of Ops for both the men's and women's track & field and cross country programs. While at Ole Miss, Dorsett handled day-to-day oversight of all the team's administrative responsibilities, including travel coordination, meet operations and promotion of the program in addition to others.
"I am excited to join the Oklahoma State staff and be part of a program with such a strong tradition," Dorsett said. "I'm thankful for the opportunity Coach Smith has given me here and the trust he's placed in me. The chance to work alongside him and help support the student-athletes is something I am grateful for."
In 2022, Dorsett was a key member of the organizing committee for both the 2022 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and 2022 SEC Cross Country Championships, both of which were held in Oxford, Miss., within five months of each other. Dorsett also has considerable meet operations and management experience across the track world, including the World Athletics Championships, the U.S. Olympic Trials and U.S. Outdoor Championships, the Prefontaine Classic, the ACC Championships and several other high-end meets across the United States. Dorsett is a certified USATF meet official.
Dorsett serves as a committee member for the director of operations sessions at the USTFCCCA Coaches Convention, at times presenting to coaches and operations staff nationwide.
Dorsett hails from Odenville, Alabama, and was a letterwinner at the University of West Alabama, where he was a team captain for the school's nationally ranked cross country program as well as its first conference championship team. Dorsett graduated from UWA in 2018 with a bachelor's in physical education and a minor in exercise science, and he completed his master's in higher education administration with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletics from Ole Miss in 2020 while a student manager for the track program from 2018-20.
