Brandon Meyer has served as Senior Associate Athletic Director and Legal Counsel for Oklahoma State University Athletics since May 2015, bringing a unique blend of legal acumen, administrative leadership, and institutional loyalty to his alma mater. In this dual role, Meyer oversees the department’s legal affairs, contract management, and Title IX compliance, while serving as the primary liaison to the Legal Counsel Office for the Oklahoma A&M Board of Regents.
As collegiate athletics undergoes historic transformation through Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) legislation, Meyer’s role as a licensed attorney has become increasingly vital. He plays a central part in guiding Oklahoma State’s NIL strategy, ensuring that the university and its student-athletes operate within the evolving frameworks of NCAA rules, state laws, and institutional policy. From evaluating third-party agreements to advising on risk management and compliance structures, Meyer leverages his legal expertise to protect student-athletes' rights while safeguarding the university’s interests.
In addition to his legal responsibilities, Meyer supports oversight of departmental special projects and provides sport supervision for the Cowgirl golf program.
An Oklahoma State alumnus, Meyer earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1991. He began his career in agriculture and accounting, working in his family’s farm and ranch operations and as a certified public accountant before earning his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He practiced law with McAfee & Taft in Oklahoma City and later served as General Counsel in the energy sector. In 2008, Meyer joined the OSU Foundation as Vice President and General Counsel, where he played a key role in the successful $1 billion “Branding Success” capital campaign.
Meyer and his wife, Julie, reside in Stillwater. They are proud parents to two OSU graduates – Jake and Emily, and a current OSU student, Lily.
