Chance Marek joined the Cowgirl Softball program in the fall of 2021.

With Marek on staff, OSU won the Big 12 championship in 2022 and advanced to the Women’s College World Series in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2024, Marek was part of a Cowgirl staff that was honored as NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year.

Before arriving in Stillwater, Marek worked at his alma mater, Sam Houston State, from 2016 to the spring of 2021 as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.

During his time there, he oversaw the strength programs for women’s basketball, softball, soccer, women’s tennis and bowling.

Marek previously worked as a strength and conditioning intern at TCU in 2014. He worked primarily with baseball and assisted with football, men’s basketball, tennis, and swimming and diving.

Marek graduated from Sam Houston State in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. He also earned his master’s in sport and human performance at Sam Houston State in 2016.
