The 2026-27 academic year marks Jesse Martin’s 20th year with Oklahoma State Athletics and his first serving as Deputy Athletic Director and Chief Commercial Officer.
In his current role, Martin oversees key areas of OSU Athletics’ commercial and external operations, including marketing and Cowboy Sports Properties, while playing an expanded role with Orange Power Studios, athletics communications and name, image and likeness initiatives. He also serves as sport administrator for Cowboy Basketball and Cowgirl Softball.
Martin previously served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, a role that capped a steady progression through several areas of the department since his arrival at Oklahoma State in 2006. His career at OSU has included leadership responsibilities in ticketing, development, annual giving, marketing, sponsorship, brand management, and external affairs.
Throughout Martin’s tenure, Oklahoma State Athletics has achieved record-setting results across multiple revenue-generating areas, including sponsorship sales, season-ticket sales, annual giving, and ticket revenue. He has played a significant role in department-wide initiatives involving revenue generation, fan engagement, corporate partnerships, branding and the overall student-athlete and fan experience.
Martin’s tenure as sport administrator for Cowgirl Softball has coincided with one of the most successful eras in program history with six Women’s College World Series appearances (2011, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024) as well as the 2022 Big 12 Conference Championship.
In 2024, Martin began a four-year term on the NCAA Division I Softball Committee. As a member of the national committee, he participates in the administration and oversight of the NCAA Division I Softball Championship and serves as one of the committee members responsible for selecting, seeding, and bracketing the NCAA Championship field and Women’s College World Series.
Before joining Oklahoma State, Martin spent nearly five years with the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL, advancing from Sports Ticket Manager to Assistant General Manager and ultimately General Manager. He was named the 2003-04 ECHL Ticket Executive of the Year and oversaw the franchise’s day-to-day operations before the organization suspended operations following Hurricane Katrina.
Martin also spent 15 years as an adjunct professor in Oklahoma State’s Spears School of Business, teaching upper-level sports marketing courses in the School of Marketing and International Business.
Martin is active in the Stillwater community. He currently serves on the Visit Stillwater Board of Directors, previously served on the Stillwater Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, and appears weekly on local radio stations.
A native of Madison, Kansas, a rural farming community located approximately three hours north of Stillwater, Martin is a 2001 graduate of Fort Hays State University, where he studied business administration with an emphasis in marketing.
Martin and his wife, Ashleigh, have three children: Mackenzie, Maddox and Miles.
