Entering his third season as an assistant coach for the Oklahoma State program is former Cowboy standout Stratton Nolen.
Nolen’s second season at his alma mater was one for the books with the Cowboys securing the program’s 12 NCAA title and its 57th conference title. Overall, the Pokes finished the season with seven victories and three individual medalists.
OSU produced a trio of All-Americans with Ethan Fang and Preston Stout garnering first-team status and Eric Lee being named an honorable mention selection. That trio also garnered All-Big 12 status with Fang being named the league’s newcomer of the year.
Four Cowboys earned all-region status and that same quartet of Fang, Lee and Stout as well as Gaven Lane being named All-America Scholars.
Fang and Stout also represented the program at the national level being named to the United States sides for both the Arnold Palmer Cup and the Walker Cup.
During the summer of 2024, Nolen was on the bag for Fang’s run to the quarterfinal round of the U.S. Amateur.
The 2023-24 season saw Nolen help produce three individual medalists, including Big 12 champion Preston Stout. Additionally, the Cowboys had three players earn Academic All-America status.
After redshirting during his first season in Stillwater in 2013-14, Nolen, competed in four events the following season for an OSU team which captured one team title on the year.
As a sophomore in 2015-16, Nolen earned third-team All-America status from Golfweek magazine and was also tabbed as an honorable mention selection by the Golf Coaches Association. A native of Austin, Texas, he was named a first-team All-Big 12 pick after earning his first career victory at the Big 12 Championship where he finished with a 6-under 282 total at Whispering Pines Country Club in Trinity, Texas. That season, Nolen added three more top-five finishes, including a third-place showing at the NCAA Stillwater Regional.
OSU recorded four team victories during that campaign as well.
As a junior, Nolen added three more top 10s while competing for a Cowboy squad that won five times on the year.
Nolen’s final season was a memorable one as the Cowboys reeled off 10 victories during the 2017-18 campaign and capped the year with the program’s 11th NCAA title, emerging victorious at Karsten Creek. He was named a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick following his final collegiate season.
After competing professionally for three years upon graduation, Nolen has worked since 2021 as a data and financial analyst in the medical field.
Nolen and his wife, Emma, have one son, Oliver.
