Cowboy Tennis Drops Match to UGA, 4-0

ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 55 Oklahoma State men's tennis team moved to 0-2 on the year Saturday, falling to No. 11 Georgia, 4-0, in the opening round of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend.
The match opened with doubles play, where Georgia claimed wins at Nos. 2 and 3 to seal the doubles point and end the marquee matchup at the No. 1 spot, where OSU's ninth-ranked Aleksey Bessonov and Rifat Biktyakov were facing 14th-ranked Javier Garrapiz and Hernus Pieters of UGA, with the Bulldogs leading, 5-3.
The Cowboys struggles continued in singles play, as the Bulldogs picked up wins from No. 47 Sadio Doumbia over Biktyakov at the No. 3 spot, No. 13 Javier Garrapiz over Vlad Bondarenko at the No. 2 spot and from Drake Bernstein over Aleksey Bessonov at the No. 4 spot to earn a 4-0 win and a spot in tomorrow's final match.
Oklahoma State will face third-seeded and No. 23-ranked Georgia Tech in the consolation match Sunday at 10 a.m. at UGA's Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Live stats are available at .
