The Basics
The Cowgirl tennis team comes off a strong performance at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend event a week ago in Stillwater, where it defeated two top-25 programs to advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in Seattle. Cowgirls Sofia Blanco and Marina Guinart remained undefeated in singles play at the completion of the event. Duals tandem Bunyawi Thamchaiwat and Tamara Arnold also maintained its untarnished record. The Cowgirls travel to Fayetteville for a meeting with the Razorbacks on Friday afternoon before heading back to Stillwater to host No. 8 UCLA.Â

Razorbacks Review
Arkansas has put together six-straight wins to start the spring 2019 slate. All but one of those came via shutout. The Arkansas roster does not include any ranked singles or doubles players. However, former Cowgirl assistants Courtney Steinbock and Natalie Pluskota head the Razorbacks. Steinbock and Pluskota were on staff at OSU during the 2015 season.

Bruins Briefing
The Cowgirls host UCLA in Stillwater for the first time in the programs' histories on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Bruins are 2-0 this season with shutout wins over Minnesota and Loyola Marymount at their Kick-Off event. UCLA's roster boasts the sixth and 12th-ranked doubles tandems in the country in Gabby Andrews and Ayan Broomfield and Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart, respectively. Bolton is also the 11th-ranked singles player (ITA), with teammate Abi Altick coming in at 113. Â

Cowgirl Quick Hits
The Cowgirls return three seniors who helped lead OSU to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last spring, each playing a key role in the team's success. The tournament appearance marked the seventh straight and fourth consecutive year hosting. It was also the fourth-straight year that the Cowgirls notched 20 wins in a season. They ended the regular season ranked No. 8 and finished second in the Big 12, stretching their streak of weeks in the ITA top 25 to 74.Â
Â
Ranked Cowgirls
In the ITA Preseason Rankings, which were released in Nov., Katie Stresnakova comes in as the highest ranked Cowgirl at No. 21. Guinart is No. 40, and Blanco falls in line at No. 73. The latest ITA team ranking positioned the Cowgirls as the 9th-thranked team in the country.
