The Basics
           The second-ranked Cowgirl equestrian team looks to capitalize on their success this season as they close out the fall season against South Carolina Saturday in Stillwater at 10 a.m. OSU is coming off a tightly contested conference matchup against TCU in Fort Worth, where the Cowgirls took the victory, 10-9.Â
About the Cowgirls                                                            Â
           The Cowgirls (5-2, 2-1 Big 12) are led by 21st-year head coach Larry Sanchez, first-year assistants Laura Brainard and Olivia Dorey and director of operations Kate Pollard. Caroline Becker is on the staff as a graduate assistant.Â

Who to Watch For                                                         Â
Katie Schell: The returning junior, who is 6-1 on the year in Flat and 4-3 in Fences, received MOP honors in both Flat and Fences against UT Martin. She also recieved MOP honors for her performance in Flat against Baylor. Schell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Flat for the month of September.Â
Emma Verplank: A returning All-American in Horsemanship and team captain, she earned MOP honors against No. 1 Auburn and is 6-1 on the season. Verplank was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Horsemanship for the month of September.Â
Hannah Mitchell: Team captain Hannah Mitchell is 4-2-1 this year with MOP performances against South Dakota State and Baylor. Mitchell was the recipient of the NCEA and Big 12 Rider of the Month awards in Reining for the month of September.Â
Freshmen: Gentry Cherry (3-3-1) and JoJo Roberson (3-3-1) both received MOP honors against UT Martin.Â
Abigail Brayman has been on a tear in Flat and is 5-1-1 on the season. She was selected as the Big 12's Flat Rider of the Month for October. She went 3-0 on the month, with wins against Baylor, Fresno State and UC Davis.Â
