Cowgirl Soccer Comes Up Short At Texas Tech

LUBBOCK, Texas – In its final road match of the regular season, Oklahoma State dropped a 1-0 contest to No. 6 Texas Tech Sunday at the John Walker Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fell to 11-7-0 overall and 4-5-0 in Big 12 play, while league-leading Texas Tech improved to 13-0-4 and 7-0-2 in the conference.
The Red Raiders finished with a 19-11 advantage in shots, including a 12-4 edge in the final half, while posting six corner kicks to OSU's five.
Madison White had four saves for TTU, while Grace Gordon tallied three for the Cowgirls.
TTU posted the lone score in the match in the 32nd minute as Elise Anderson sent a pass into the box that Ashleigh Williams raced in and delivered into the net for her 13th goal of the season.
The Cowgirls battled for the equalizer prior to intermission, but Xcaret Pineda had a pair of shots saved, and Logan Heausler just missed when she connected on a shot that deflected off the far post.
Both teams recorded seven shots in the opening half, while OSU owned a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
OSU will conclude the regular season Monday, Oct. 23, when it hosts Bedlam-rival Oklahoma. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.
