STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team picked up its third consecutive sweep Friday, taking down the Wichita State Shockers in Stillwater, 4-0.
The win pushed Oklahoma State to 5-3 on the season.
OSU started the afternoon by taking the doubles point after victories on courts one and two. For the first time this season, Alana Wolfberg and Sofia Rojas paired up to compete in doubles where they defeated Lingwei Kong and Natsumi Kurahashi, 6-1.
Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez prevailed in a tightly contested match over the Shocker duo of Kristina Kudryavtseva and Jessica Anzo, 6-4.
In singles, Kristina Novak started fast and never looked back on the way to a 6-0, 6-2, rout of Wichita State's Anzo. Miyamoto followed suit and capped off an impressive day taking down Theodora Chantava, 6-2, 6-2.
Wolfberg secured the match-clinching point after defeating Kong in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
