Cowgirl Tennis Secures Fifth Sweep Of The Season

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's women's tennis team closed out the weekend with a 4-0 victory over the 41^st-ranked South Carolina at the Greenwood Tennis Center on Saturday.

With the win, the Cowgirls improve to 6-3 on the season. Additionally, OSU picked up its fourth consecutive sweep while outscoring opponents 16-0 during the string.

OSU started the afternoon by taking the doubles point after victories on court two and three. Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez dominated their matchup besting Allie Gretkowski and Ana Cruz, 6-0.

Alana Wolfberg and Sofia Rojas fall to Sarah Hamner and Ayana Akli, 6-3. With the doubles point up for grabs, Martina Zerulo and Lucia Peyre rose to the occasion and delivered a 6-3 clutch victory to seal a Cowgirl point.

In singles, Rojas cruised to an impressive 6-2, 6-1 victory against Elise Mills. Miyamoto continued her successful weekend by defeating South Carolina's Cruz, 6-3, 6-2.

Gonzalez handled Misa Malkin, 6-3, 6-4, to seal the match-clinching point for the Cowgirls.

Next up, OSU is set for two road tests against UC Santa Barbara next Friday at 1 p.m. CT and Pepperdine March 5 at 1 p.m. CT.
