Cowboys Remain Perfect at Home, Race by SMU 4-3

Oklahoma State's men's tennis team returned indoors on Sunday to defeat SMU, 4-3, at the Greenwood Tennis Center.Â
For the 29th-ranked Cowboys, Sunday's victory extended their home winning streak, with OSU now boasting a perfect 8-0 home record during the spring season. Additionally, the outcome marks OSU's fifth win in its last six outings.
In their first pairing of the spring season, Alessio Basile and Isaac Becroft posted a 6-0 triumph over Liam Krall and Antonio Muniz-Hidalgo to kick off doubles action.
Alex Garcia and Francisco Pini got in their groove on court three, defeating Kyle Sillman and Julian Steinhausen, 6-2, to secure the doubles point for OSU.
While also in their first pairing, Chase Ferguson and Tyler Zink ended their match unfinished, over No. 55 Adam Neff and Pranav Kumar, leading 4-3.
Garcia swung his momentum into singles play, serving up a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Muniz-Hidalgo.
Krall mustered up the Mustangs' first point of the match, defeating Ferguson, 6-4, 6-2, on court two.
Basile stormed by Louis Cloud, earning the Cowboys a 3-1 lead courtesy of a 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 win.
With Becroft losing his first set, 6-2, and trailing 5-1 in a second-set tiebreaker, the junior closed the margin to a 6-5 deficit. However, Kumar struck the seventh point, handing SMU the victory, 6-2, 7-6(5).
Neff continued the streak for the Mustangs, handling Zink 7-6(2), 2-6, 6-2, to knot the match at 3-3.
In the game-deciding match, Pini got by Steinhausen, 7-5, 1-6, 6-2, to secure the Cowboy victory.
Oklahoma State will conclude its three-game homestand on Friday, March 10, against UCF at 5 p.m. (CST.)
