Cowgirl Tennis Falls To No. 18 Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma State's 19th-ranked Cowgirl tennis came up short in a 4-0 setback against No. 18 Oklahoma at the Headington Family Tennis Center on Friday.
With the loss, the Cowgirls fall to 12-6 overall and 5-2 in Big 12 play on the year.
The match began with Alana Wolfberg and Martina Zerulo dropping their doubles match, 6-3. No. 33 Ayumi Miyamoto and Raquel Gonzalez bounced back and secured their biggest upset of the year by defeating ninth-ranked Carmen and Ivana Corley, 7-5.
Sofia Rojas and Lucia Peyre dropped their match to No. 30 Alexandra Pisareva and Layne Sleeth, 6-4, to give Oklahoma the doubles point.
In singles action, the Sooners secured three consecutive points on the top courts. Zerulo fell to No. 91 Dana Guzman, 6-0, 6-3, while Wolfberg dropped her match to No. 64 Layne Sleeth, 6-2, 6-2.
OU's C. Corley secured the match for the Sooners after besting Peyre, 7-6 (4), 6-1.
OSU is back in action against Kansas Friday at 5 p.m. CT in Lawrence, Kansas.
