Cowgirl Equestrian Earns Two Victories on the Road

MARTIN, Tenn. —Oklahoma State's fifth-ranked equestrian team defeated UC Davis, 9-6, and No. 10 UT Martin, 12-7, on Friday and Saturday at the Ned R. McWhorter Agriculture Complex to improve to 2-1 on the season.

The first meet on the schedule was against UC Davis where Flat and Reining competed Friday afternoon and was completed the next morning with Horsemanship and Fences. Â

The Cowgirls won Reining, 3-1 against the Aggies. The only UC Davis point came from Mya Clader after she bested her opponent, 66.5-65.5. OSU's Quincee Clark countered with a 70.5 to beat Avery Adamson, while Abby Budd secured her first victory of the year, 68.5-68. Emma Filiatreau earned her first career MOP honor with a 70.5.

Flat coincided with Reining, where the teams tied at 2 apiece. Caroline Mirts tallied an OSU point by defeating Emma Jolly, 83-80. The other Cowgirl point came from Bella Holway with a score of 78. Hannah Dodd and Riley Hogan both lost their rides, 93-92 and 71-68, respectively.

The next day, Horsemanship and Fences occurred simultaneously. Alana Stanton picked up a victory against UC Davis, 74.5-73.5, and June Roberson followed with her ride and bested Kylie Jacobson, 73-63.5. The lone Aggie point came from Natasha Replogie. Claire McDowall earned her second straight MOP-honor and 10th of her career with a 75-74 victory.
Fences was the final event in the competition in which the Cowgirls lost. The lone OSU point came from Riley Hogan who tallied an 87-74 win. She earned the 12th MOP of her career and second of the season. Bella Holway tied with Natalie Wasson with a score of 76. Mackenzie Carreras and Ellie DuPuis both lost their ride, 78-77 and 79-77, respectively.

Directly after the meet against UC Davis, OSU took on No. 10 UT Martin. The meet began with Fences and Horsemanship coinciding, where the Cowgirls took the lead. In Fences, Hogan secured a quick point for the Cowgirls after beating Kate Mills. Hogan earned her second MOP of the day as well as her 49th career win.

Carreras scored an 82 to earn her first point of the season and Holway earned another win over Audrey Morris, 74-40. Gable Gering and Ellie DuPuis were defeated, 86-81 and 82-82 respectively.

In Horsemanship, the only UT Martin point came off a 75-74.5 win from Kailyn Veale. Peyton Baxter started the discipline with a 70.5-67.5 win over Skyhawk Lexi Bailey, and Bella D'Onofrio bested her opponent. Up next, McDowall had an MOP-worthy ride with a 73, her second MOP of the day. Roberson tied her opponent at 76.

Next, Reining and Flat occur simultaneously. In Flat, the Cowgirls took the event, 3-2. Holway continued her momentum defeating her opponent, 83-69. Hannah Dodd earned another tally over Lydia Jordan, 93-78, while Riley Hogan bested her opponent for her 50th combined career win. The two Skyhawk Flat points came from Gabby Adams and Bridget Vieau.
