Cowgirl Soccer Adds Transfers
December 10, 2024 | Cowgirl Soccer
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State has added a pair of transfers to its roster for the 2025 season as Jazmin Brown and Murphy Sheaff are making the move to Stillwater from Kansas State.
Both Brown and Sheaff are coming off standout junior campaigns for the Wildcats and will play their final collegiate seasons at OSU for head coach Colin Carmichael.
Brown, a defender from Gilbert, Ariz., collected All-Big 12 Second Team honors in 2024 as she played in 18 matches with 17 starts and led all K-State field players with 1,450 minutes played.
In her three seasons in Manhattan, Brown appeared in 55 matches, 53 as a starter, and tallied three goals in over 4,500 minutes of action. She recorded 34 shots, 19 of those on goal.
Brown starred at the prep level for Basha High School, where she was an AIA All-6A First Team performer as a senior, and at the club level for AZ Arsenal ECNL.
"Jazmin is a player who we have watched compete in the Big 12 for the past three years and her playing in over 50 matches and being named an all-conference player shows tells you the type of competitor we are getting," Carmichael said. "She is a tough defender who is aggressive and very good in 1 v. 1 situations. She has proven to be one of the best defenders in the Big 12, and her accolades back that up.
"We expect Jazmin to come in and immediately impact our squad."
A goalkeeper from Sunshine Coast, Australia, Sheaff began her career at Jacksonville before spending the last two seasons at Kansas State. She has played in 49 career matches with 44 starts.
As a freshman at Jacksonville, Sheaff appeared in 13 games, starting eight, and led the NCAA with a .902 save percentage while ranking among the national leaders in goals-against average at 0.60.
In her two seasons at K-State, Sheaff started all 36 games in goal and recorded eight shutouts and 184 saves in 3,210 minutes. As a sophomore, she set a school record with nearly 417 consecutive shutout minutes and posted a 1.30 goals-against average. She is coming off a season in which she racked up 102 saves and tallied four clean sheets.
At the international level, Sheaff has been a part of the New Zealand Women's National Team roster in 2023 and 2024. In 2022, she started all three matches for New Zealand at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup.
"Murphy is a very talented goalkeeper who brings a ton of Division I experience to our group so she should be ready to come in and compete immediately," Carmichael said. "She has represented New Zealand at the U20 World Cup and has also been called up by their full national team; her experience at the international level will be a real benefit to our squad. And the fact that she has competed in the Big 12 for the past two years is also a bonus.
"She is an athletic keeper who can make big saves, and we're excited to get her to Stillwater in January and start working with her."
