Zink, Garcia, Becroft Land in Final ITA National Rankings

STILLWATER – Tyler Zink, Alex Garcia and Isaac Becroft of the Oklahoma State men's tennis team appeared in the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association's DI men's tennis rankings of the 2024 spring season.
OSU saw a top-10 ranked doubles pairing to go with three singles players in the top 90. The Zink/Becroft tandem finished the season at No. 10 after a run in the NCAA Doubles Championships. In singles, Zink checked in at No. 26, Garcia at No. 72, Becroft at No. 88.
Zink and Becroft finished the season 7-1 with six ranked wins. The Cowboy duo advanced to the sweet 16 of the NCAA Doubles Championships, ultimately falling to Duke's No. 1 Garrett Johns and Pedro Rodenas. The Cowboys defeated No. 62 Eliot Spizzirri and Siem Woldeab (Texas), No. 52 Baptiste Anselmo and Alex Martinez (Oklahoma), No. 29 Tadeus Paroulek and Zsombor Velcz (Baylor), No. 22 Spizzirri and Woldeab and No. 15 Keshav Chopra and Marcus McDaniel (Georgia Tech).
Zink appeared in the ITA top 25 in eight of 10 spring season polls, including a season high ranking of No. 15 on Feb. 20. He totaled 61 career singles victories with three years at Oklahoma State and two at Georgia. The graduate capped 2024 with 18 wins including eight over ranked opponents. Highlighted victories included No. 5 Oliver Tarvet (San Diego), No. 25 Leo Raquin (MTSU), No. 38 Peter Makk (USC) and No. 39 Hunter Heck (Illinois).
Garcia garnered his eighth ranking of the 2024 campaign, landing at No. 72. He collected a ranking as high as No. 32 on Feb. 7. The graduate earned 12 victories on the season, totaling 42 career wins, including double digit tallies in his final three years.
Becroft corralled a top 90 ranking to conclude his second-to-last college tennis season. He recorded a ranking as high as No. 70, starting 11-0 on courts two and three, before getting the nod to court two for the remainder of the season. The Wellington, New Zealand native wrapped up the season with a team second-best 15 wins, including the fewest losses among those with double-digit wins. This marked the most victories in a single season in his career.
