STILLWATER – Oklahoma State 157-pounder Landon Robideau earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors after his Friday victory over Stanford's No. 4 Daniel Cardenas in OSU's season opener, the conference announced Wednesday.
In the true freshman's first collegiate action, Robideau took on the Stanford All-American and dominated the match from start to finish. He collected a pair of takedowns in the opening period then nabbed the final takedown of the bout with under 10 seconds to go to pick up a major decision victory.
Through two weeks, the Cowboys have swept the Big 12 honors with Robideau winning the award this week and 184-pounder Zack Ryder earning it last week.
Next up, Oklahoma State heads east to Tulsa for the National Duals Invitational, where the Cowboys open the tournament against No. 12 Cornell Saturday at 9 a.m. at the BOK Center.
