STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's indoor opened their seasons with a trio of meets across the country in Boston and Kansas.
At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston, Denis Kipngetich opened his campaign in the 5,000 Meters, clocking a new personal-best time of 13:12.91. Kipngetich's time is the third-best mark in program history and the 17th-best time in NCAA history. He is coming off his third consecutive All-America finish in cross country and was the fifth-place finisher at last year's NCAA Indoor Championships in the 5K.
Fellow cross country All-American Adisu Guadie also opened his season in the 5K with a new Israeli National Indoor Record of 13:29.58, which also moves him up to No. 5 in program history. Guadie was recently 12th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships last month.
2025 second team All-American Laban Kipkemboi opened up his campaign in the Mile with his time of 3:57.24 in the invitational section.
On the women's side, Maureen Rutoh clocked the fourth-best 5K time in OSU history with her mark of 15:38.22 to open her sophomore indoor season.
The Cowboys and Cowgirls also competed at a pair of meets in Kansas, starting with the OSU multi-event group at the Wichita State Shocker Multi. True freshman Elise Eikeland picked up the meet victory in the Pentathlon in her first career competition in the Orange and Black with her score of 3,934 points. Right behind her was sophomore teammate Jamila Isman with 3,846 points to earn a 1-2 finish for the Cowgirls. With their performances, Eikeland and Isman rank fifth and sixth on the program's all-time list.
At the Washburn Alumni Invitational in Topeka, true freshman Alex Riley took home the win in the 1,000 Meters in his Cowboy debut with his time of 2:22.19, the fifth-fastest time in Cowboy history. Right behind him were teammates Oliver Patton and David Mora in second and third with times of 2:22.42 and 2:25.61. Patton's mark ranks him sixth in program history.
For the Cowgirls, another true freshman showed her stripes in the 600 Yards, with Brooke Beck taking the win with her time of 1:21.33, which is eight best in Cowgirl history. Fellow true freshman Paige Stuart was second in the same race, clocking a time of 1:22.57.
