April 13, 2025 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Track and Field continued its outdoor season with Saturday trips out east to the Arkansas Spring Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., and up north to the KT Woodman Classic in Wichita, Kan.
At the Arkansas Spring Invitational, Kade Benjamin kicked off the day for the Cowboys in the field, earning third place in the men's High Jump with a 2.05 meter leap, good for tenth best in school history. On the women's side, Freshman Zeddy Chongwo turned in a third place finish of her own in the Long Jump with her 6.00 meter effort. Kileigh Mixon placed sixth in the women's High Jump with a 1.70 meter mark, the tenth best jump all-time from a Cowgirl.
Over on the track, the Cowboys dominated the men's 400 Meter Hurdles as Hunter Vaughn claimed a photo finish victory and Ben Currence finished third. Vaughn's mark of 52.42 is the tenth fastest time in Cowboy history. In the 800 Meter Invitational, Hafez Mahadi earned second place with his time of 1:47.23. This mark shattered Mahadi's previous personal best and is now the third fastest time in program history.
On the women's side, Ansley Scott won her heat of the 400 Meters en route to a ninth place finish overall. Scott's time of 53.99 is the seventh best mark in Cowgirl history. Later in the day, Brilee Payne's 1:01.39 time in the 400 Meter Hurdles earned her sixth place in the event as well as the seventh best time in OSU history.
Up in Wichita, Kan., Oklahoma State's throwers competed in the KT Woodman Classic. Storied Cowboy thrower Sam Mason kicked off the action, turning in a 57.38 meter effort in the men's Hammer Throw, securing a third place finish. On the women's side, Johnna Orange highlighted the day's activities, placing third in the Hammer Throw with a 56.64 meter toss.
