April 18, 2025 | Cowboy Cross Country & Track
EUGENE, ORE. – Oklahoma State men's and women's outdoor track & field travels west once again, this time to Oregon to compete in the Oregon Open and Oregon Team Invitational meets in Eugene.
This weekend's festivities are being split into two separate meets – Friday's Oregon Open and Saturday's Oregon Team Invitational. Friday's meet is an open meet in which any team can compete unlimited athletes in any event like a normal meet.
However, the Oregon Team Invitational pits five men's teams (Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas A&M, Kansas State and Wichita State) and seven women's teams (plus Oregon State and Utah) against each other, with each school only being able to compete two athletes per event in a scored competition. Saturday's meet is also televised live on the Big Ten Network starting at 7 p.m. CT.
The Cowboys enter the meet ranked just outside the USTFCCCA top 25 at No. 26 and will see the outdoor season debuts of two-time NCAA Champions Ryan Schoppe and Fouad Messaoudi in the 5,000 Meters Saturday night. The Cowgirls have bounced in and out of the top 25 this season and come into the weekend ranked No. 34, with indoor second team All-American Kaylie Politza also making her outdoor debut this weekend in the 800 Meters.
As for the competition, Texas A&M enters the meet ranked No. 1 in the country on both the men's and women's sides. The Oregon women are also coming off an indoor season in which they won the national title in Virginia last month.
