Cowgirl Softball adds outfielder Kaya Booker
June 27, 2025 | Cowgirl Softball
STILLWATER – Oklahoma State Softball has signed speedy outfielder Kaya Booker, head coach Kenny Gajewski announced today.
Booker joins the Cowgirls with four years of eligibility remaining after obtaining a medical redshirt in her freshman season at Georgia Tech.
"We're very excited to add Kaya to the team," Gajewski said. "She's coming off a freshman season at Georgia Tech where she had to redshirt because of an injury, and we can't wait to see her grow and develop here as a Cowgirl."
Although injury held her out of action in her first season of collegiate softball, Booker comes to Stillwater as a touted high school recruit, with Extra Innings Softball naming her the No. 33-ranked recruit and No. 24-ranked outfielder in the 2024 class. A graduate of Chattahoochee High School, Booker holds the single-season school records in batting average (.565), hits (54), RBI (38) and stolen bases (36).
"Words can't describe how excited I am to be a Cowgirl," Booker said. "This program is committed to success on and off the field, which is incredibly special to me. Stillwater is so unique, and I have no doubt that I'll be challenged here. I'm looking forward to being surrounded by girls and coaches who have a high standard for excellence."
Hailing from Alpharetta, Ga., Booker was named the 2022 and 2023 All-Region Offensive Player of the Year while maintaining her status as an honor roll student. She also collected a pair of All-State selections in both softball (2023) and track & field (2022-23) and was awarded All-Metro distinction in the 4x400.
Booker is the third Division I transfer to choose Oklahoma State for the upcoming season, joining utility player Jayden Jones (Virginia Tech) and outfielder Melina Wilkison (Indiana).
