Nijkamp Advances to Final in San Francisco

STILLWATER – Rose Marie Nijkamp of the Oklahoma State women's tennis team advanced on Saturday at the Battle in the Bay in San Francisco, California.
The four-seeded Nijkamp bested teammate, Lucia Peyre, 6-3, 6-4, to advance to Sunday's final, where she will face top-seeded No. 37 Anastasiia Grechkina from Pepperdine at 1 p.m. CT.
Nijkamp found her way into the singles semifinals by defeating Pepperdine's Alexia Harmon, 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. Peyre beat USC's Emma Charney, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, to advance to Saturday.
The Cowgirl duo saw their doubles run come to an end with an 8-3 loss to Grechkina and Alexia Harmon, in the semifinals.
