BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Oklahoma State sophomore Lucy Darr impressed in an early-week trip northeast for the Lady Clerico tournament at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Darr, the Cowgirls' lone representative at the first-ever Lady Clerico event, competed as an individual and finished tied for third place. The sophomore shot par-or-better in all three rounds, one of only three golfers to do so.
The first two rounds of the tournament teed off Monday, Sept. 15. Darr played the opening round at even-par and returned later in the afternoon to fire a 2-under 70 in the second round. Darr sat in fourth place at the conclusion of the first day's action.
The third and final round began Tuesday morning. The second-year Poke started hot with 3 birdies on the front nine, shooting a 3-under 33. Darr carded even-par on the back nine, turning in a 69 stroke, 3-under par performance to secure a third-place finish.
This marks Darr's first top 10 finish at the collegiate level and is the first time that she has finished an event under par. Darr also now boasts the highest individual finish from a Cowgirl so far this season.
