Cowgirl Golf travels to Tucson for early-week action
February 08, 2026 | Cowgirl Golf
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Oklahoma State women's golf team heads out west to continue its spring season at the Thunderbird Intercollegiate on Monday.
The Tucson Country Club hosts the event. With a par-72, 6,736-yard layout, the club features a tree-lined, classic Western design and is over 400 yards longer than any course the Cowgirls have played this year.
OSU is coming off a razor-thin runner-up performance at the Collegiate Invitational in its first tournament of the spring. The second-place showing led the Cowgirls to the No. 20 spot in the opening spring NCAA rankings.
Format:
The Thunderbird Intercollegiate is a 54-hole stroke-play tournament composed of three 18-hole rounds. Both the first and second rounds will be played on Monday, with the third and final round taking place on Tuesday. Each of the 15 teams will bring five golfers, with the top four scores counting toward daily totals. Oklahoma State is paired with Charlotte and in-conference foes Arizona State and BYU.

If It Ain't Broke…:
All five members of this week's Oklahoma State lineup also played at last month's Collegiate Invitational in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Grace Kilcrease played each of her three rounds in Guadalajara at par or better, one of just two golfers to do so. The senior from Springdale, Arkansas, tied for sixth place, securing her second top-10 finish of the season and her 10th since arriving in Stillwater last year.
In her first event following a nearly five-month hiatus, sophomore Lucy Darr enjoyed the second-best finish of her college career, placing 14th. The Stillwater native opened with rounds of 69 (-3) and 71 (-1), before closing the weekend at 2-over-par.
After playing to a stellar 71.18 (+0.4) stroke average in the fall, Ellie Bushnell's week of competition in Mexico was highlighted by a third-round 71 (-1).
Tarapath Panya earned the first top-20 finish of her sophomore campaign, tying for 19th place behind a 71-78-72—221 (+5) scorecard.
Fellow sophomore Summer Lee picked up her second top-25 placement of the season, coming in 22nd at 7-over-par.
In Good Company:
The Thunderbird Intercollegiate field features five top-25 squads, including No. 1 Stanford.
Oklahoma State is the third-highest-ranked team set to tee off in Tucson, trailing only Stanford and No. 18 Arizona State and leading No. 21 Baylor and No. 22 Arizona.
The tournament also hosts seven Big 12 teams, offering an early preview of April's conference championship. Oklahoma State has seen success in limited action against in-conference opponents so far this season, posting an 11-6 (.647) record against fellow Big 12 squads.
25 conference titles. 31 NCAA Championship appearances. 44 All-Americans. For the latest news and updates on Oklahoma State Women's Golf, visit okstate.com or follow @CowgirlGolf on Instagram/Facebook and @OSUCowgirlGolf on X.
