STILLWATER – Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country open postseason play as they host the 2026 Big 12 Cross Country Championship at the state-of-the-art Greiner Family Cross Country Course in Stillwater on Saturday.
Acton at the Big 12 Cross Country Championships kicks off with the women's 6K at 10:00 a.m. CT, with the men's 8K immediately following at 11:00 a.m. The awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the men's 8K at around noon CT. The entirety of the meet will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live results found here.
The Cowboys have won 14 of the last 18 conference titles on the grass, including the 2025 championship with the second-lowest score in conference history of 20 points. However, the No. 2 Cowboys face a loaded field on the men's side, with ranked squads No. 3 Colorado, No. 5 BYU and No. 20 Iowa State all in contention for the team title.
Cowboy Brian Musau has won the previous three individual Big 12 titles and is looking to become the first man in Big 12 history to win four consecutive individual titles on the grass. Overall, a Cowboy has won each of the last four individual Big 12 titles, with Alex Maier claiming the 2022 victory in addition to Musau's three-peat from 2023-25.
Musau currently sits at No. 7 in the FloTrack's individual rankings and is joined by All-American teammates Denis Kipngetich and Adisu Guadie, who are ranked No. 5 and No. 35, respectively.
On the women's side, the No. 7 Cowgirls will be looking to return to the top step of the Big 12 podium for the first time since 2022. They will be up against several ranked opponents in No. 1 BYU, No. 3 West Virginia, No. 10 Colorado, No. 16 Utah and No. 18 Iowa State.
Individually, No. 1 Billah Jepkirui and No. 4 Maureen Rutoh will be looking to become just the second individual to win a Big 12 title on the grass since the formation of the Big 12, joining Taylor Roe in 2023.
