STILLWATER – Oklahoma State's No. 25 ranked women's tennis team lost to No. 2 Ohio State, 4-3, on Sunday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

The Cowgirls fall to 3-4 and open conference play next weekend hosting West Virginia on Feb. 27 and Cincinnati on March 1.

The match began with doubles, with the Cowgirls forfeiting court three due to injuries. The Cowgirls took the point for the fifth time this season, as No. 24 Anastasiya Komar and Rose Marie Nijkamp defeated Alessia Cau and Sophia Cisse-Ignatiev, 6-3. Komar and Nijkamp improved to 4-1 in doubles this season.

Olivia Lincer and Luca Udvardy clinched the point for the Cowgirls by besting No. 60 Luciana Perry and Audrey Spencer, 6-4.

In singles, Oklahoma State forfeited court six due to injuries, making the match 1-1. No. 2 Teah Chavez defeated Komar 6-3, 6-3, to give the Buckeyes the advantage. Ohio State extended its lead as Spencer defeated Melisa Ercan 6-3, 6-4. This marked Ercan's first match of the season.

OSU responded with Udvardy winning her third-consecutive singles match, defeating No. 44 Nao Nishino 7-5, 6-3. Ohio State's No. 4 Luciana Perry outlasted No. 40 Lincer 6-4, 7-6 (7-1), to put the deciding point on the board for the Buckeyes. This marked Lincer's first loss of the season.
