The Basics
Oklahoma State's sixth-ranked equestrian team travels to Dallas on Saturday for a 12:30 p.m. matchup against SMU. The meet marks the final regular season contest for both the Cowgirls and Mustangs before postseason play begins. OSU enters the weekend with a 6-2 record after falling to Fresno State last week, which snapped the Cowgirls' NCEA-best six-meet winning streak. SMU comes into the contest at 4-5 overall but has been strong at home with a 3-1 record this season. The Mustangs' only loss in Dallas came in a tiebreaker against current No. 1 Auburn.
About the Cowgirls                                                            Â
Head coach Larry Sanchez, in his 27th year at the helm, leads the Cowgirls alongside seventh-year assistant Laura Brainard, first-year assistant Ashley Duda and Jody Brainard, who is in his third year with the program and first as an assistant coach.
Rounding Out the Regular Season                                                            Â
Saturday's meet marks the final regular-season contest for the Cowgirls. At 6-2, Oklahoma State has an opportunity to finish with its fewest regular-season losses since the 2021-22 team that went on to win the national championship. The Cowgirls entered last week riding a six-meet winning streak before falling to Fresno State. The streak was the program's longest since the 2021-22 season.
Conference Leaders                                                      Â
The Cowgirls boast a 4-2 conference record, placing them atop the Big 12. On March 27-28, Stillwater will host the Big 12 Championship where Oklahoma State will try to win its sixth-straight conference title.
