Cowboy Tennis falls at Wichita State

Wichita, Kan. — The Oklahoma State men's tennis team dropped its match at Wichita State, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Coleman Tennis Complex.
OSU moves to 12-4 on the 2026 season, while Wichita State improves to 9-7 and remains undefeated at home.
The Cowboys had to start from behind, dropping the doubles point. Although the Shockers took the 1-0 lead, court two saw OSU's Aaron Williams and Nicolas Kobelt claim their ninth win of the season as a pairing, defeating WSU's Ilias Worthington and Rodrigo Cruz, 6-4.
Singles saw a back-and-forth battle, swapping leads multiple times before a final third set on court two decided the match.
The Cowboys evened up the score with a win from Derek Pham on court three over Alejandro Jacome, 6-2, 6-2. Shortly after, sophomore Ian Bracks gave the Pokes the 2-1 lead with a, 6-4, 6-2, win over WSU's Pablo Roche Alcaya. Wichita State took the lead right back with wins on court one and court six.
Senior Aaron Williams brought the Cowboys square yet again, defeating Ian Bracks' brother, Luke Bracks, in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
The match came down to a battle between OSU's Kobelt and 112th-ranked Zaid Al Mashni.The first two sets both went to tiebreakers, with Kobelt taking the first, 7-6(3), and Mashni taking the second, 7-6(4). Eventually, Mashni pulled away and secured the victory for Wichita State in the third set, 6-4.
The Cowboys will look to bounce back on Tuesday at the Greenwood Tennis Center as they take on Penn at 5 p.m.
