Collin Bond Victorious At Oklahoma State Amateur

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma State's Collin Bond continued his impressive play through the match play bracket to become the first Cowboy since Ian Davis in 2022 to capture the Oklahoma State Amateur Championship on Thursday at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club.
The sophomore defeated Benjamin Stoller, 4&2, in the championship match. In the final, Bond never trailed. He won the fourth and fifth holes before taking a commanding 4-up lead with wins at Nos. 7 and 8. Stoller would win the 11th and 12th holes to cut the margin in half, but Bond would close out the match with wins at the 15th and 16th holes.
After a 5-and-4 victory over Carson Scrymgeour in his opening match, Bond posted a 2-up win over Jack Lee before notching a 2-and-1 triumph against Bryan Vahlberg to reach the semifinals. The Norman, Okla., native would take down C.J. Phillips, 5&4, on his way to the title match.
Bond posted a 3-under 68 to earn the event's No. 8 seed.
His victory marks the 25th time a Cowboy has won the tournament and he joins a list that includes OSU head coach Alan Bratton (2006).
