STILLWATER – Led by a brace from Keaton Mitchell, Oklahoma State knocked off Stephen F. Austin, 3-0, Sunday night at Neal Patterson Stadium for its first win of the season.

With the victory, the Cowgirls improved to 1-0-1 on the season, while SFA fell to 1-1-0.

Mitchell tallied goals in each half, and Sonora DeFini sealed the game with her first goal of the season in the 61^st minute.

OSU goalkeeper Logan Marks recorded the shutout and posted four saves.

Through the first 32 minutes, the game was scoreless, but, eight minutes after coming into the game, Mitchell collected a pass from Laudan Wilson and blasted a 30-yard shot to the near post to give the Cowgirls the lead.

The game went into intermission with OSU still up 1-0 and holding a 9-4 advantage in shots and a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.

Just under 10 minutes into the second half, OSU doubled its lead. On a free kick, Emmy Hedden crossed the ball into a crowded six-yard box, and it was Mitchell heading the ball into the back of the net to secure the brace.

At the 60:51 mark, DeFini was taken down in the box. She stepped up and converted the penalty kick to push the lead to 3-0.

OSU finished the match with a 19-8 lead in shots and held a 13-3 advantage in corner kicks.

The Cowgirls return to action Thursday when they host Bedlam-rival Oklahoma. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Neal Patterson Stadium.
